she studies B(ase) E(xperimental) A(rt) R(esearch) /fine arts at ArtEZ the "university of the arts". in Arnhem.

besides school and her autonomous art practice she also plays bass, sings and writes lyrics in the band The Earwurms.

Thing Expressionism of Neglected Objects

Paloma works with the collecting of specific and neglected objects. this can be physical, linguistic or cyber/digital material. These unwanted objects, ignored by the anthropocentric world, are full of different potentialities, also known as baselines. The notes are there we only have to arrange them with a rhythm and silences.

Her work tries to find (while playing) a new language, bass-line and arrangement within these objects. She does this with the help of “Thing-Expressionism”, a DIY theory around interaction research with and around objects.

The two objects

The Dead Plants: creating an active dialogue that transforms definitions within the human-plant relationship with material interaction.

Eggs: a Soundcloud rapper called “Eggnostic Shellshock” the embodiment of a common egg and its Eggsistential dread.
